Where do I locate my return tracking number?
A free return label is included with most Timberland.com orders. We also provide a convenient option in our help center to print a free return label if you did not receive one. Both types of free return labels are not connected to your order or kept on file with Timberland. It is important to keep record of your tracking number to track progress.
Your return tracking number is displayed by the large barcode on the free return label that is placed on the outside of the box prior to shipping back to our return facility.

Perfect! The free return labels provided with your Timberland order and online in our help center, are categorized as SmartPost returns. SmartPost returns can be handled by the United States Postal Service (USPS) and FedEx Ground. Follow these simple instructions to track your return:
If you returned your item(s) at the local post office or to your mail person
- Visit usps.com and enter your return tracking number in the Search or Track Packages field
- You may see a message that states tracking hasn’t started and only the label has been created (this is normal, please allow at least one full business day for tracking to start)
- Click on the Tracking History section to review progress
- Once you see that your return has been Delivered to Agent or Picked Up and Processed by Agent, you then can track your package with FedEx
- Visit fedex.com and enter your return tracking number in the Tracking field
- Once your return is delivered to our Timberland return facility, please allow 3-5 business days for a return confirmation email
- Returns initiated through USPS take 2-3 weeks to complete on average
If you returned your item(s) at a FedEx facility or drop-box
- Visit fedex.com and enter your return tracking number in the Tracking field
- Once your return is delivered to our Timberland return facility, please allow 3-5 business days for a return confirmation email
- Returns initiated at FedEx take 1-2 weeks to complete on average
If you returned your item(s) at a UPS, DHL, or other ship/packaging/postal facility or drop-box
- Even though carriers other than the post office and FedEx cannot be used to transport your return, each location has a process in place for pick-ups (this will take at least another week in most cases)
- Visit usps.com and enter your return tracking number in the Search or Track Packages field

- Returns will travel straight to our Timberland returns facility
- Returns initiated at FedEx take 1-2 weeks to complete on average
